Hi there!

We just rolled out of a campground on the banks of the Mississippi River, in Fairport, Iowa, headed for New England again!

The new transmission seems to be working really well - and the rv now has a name - Princess. Dont ask me why, its just so! After we left Wyoming, we stopped in Lincoln, Nebraska for a night to visit Susan L.....we missed the opening Huskers game because it was sold out! Can you believe it?

Here are some FASCINATING things I learned about Nebraska while we drove (endlessly) through it:
-it is the birthplace of KoolAid (honestly, when I saw the billboard on the side of the road I almost died laughing!!!) IT WAS ALMOST AS GOOD AS THE SPAM MUSEUM!
-there is a carhendge in NE, made entirely of cadillacs
-it is the home of the National Liars Museum
-vice-grips were invented in NE
-The world's most famous tractor testing laboratory is at the University of Nebraska College of Engineering.
-Nebraska is both the largest producer and user of center pivot irrigation.(what????)
-American Legion Post No. 3 in Lincoln is the world's largest American Legion post. (this one was easy to believe)
-America's first rodeo was held by Buffalo Bill at his Scouts Rest Ranch at North Platte to celebrate the Fourth of July in 1882.
- The strobe light was invented by Nebraska native, Dr. Harold Edgerton.

OK, now that we have had our history lesson....you can learn more by going to: http://www.sos.state.ne.us/knwing_ne.html
who knew that the state of nebraska was this much fun! Now I have to find anything at all fun about IOWA!!!

I miss you all! call me! I have cell service again, now that we are east of the Mississippi...
Love ya, Mindy
